Mark, a Wisconsin native, started making shoji in Hawaii in 2001. It was the beginning of our company Shoji Woodworking. His wife, Emi is Japanese and handles importing shoji paper and supplies. Annual visit to Japan make it possible for us to see Japanese shoji makers, shoji paper manufacturers and hardware suppliers to keep up with the latest trend in shoji market in Japan.
As rice paper products find growing use in Western style homes, our selections of shoji paper material keep expanding. That is why we created eShoji.com and are able to offer such a wide range of shoji paper for our custom screens. We also offer our products to design and building professionals, other shoji makers and home users. Our goal is not only to offer the best shoji products, but also to compile and share shoji related information to assist customer's shoji projects.
We loved Hawaii but moved the business to Wisconsin in 2005, to be close to Mark's family. Our shop is located in Slinger, WI. We continue to supply custom shoji screens, doors and window coverings in southern Wisconsin, and paper products throughout the US, and beyond.
